KIMS Healthcare, Trivandrum approached us to create a commercial film for their bariatric surgery department. The brief was deceptively simple and genuinely difficult: tell this story convincingly. Healthcare advertising in this category tends to fall into one of two traps — clinical explanation that no one watches, or exaggerated transformation claims that no one believes. Neither builds the kind of trust a person needs before walking into a hospital and discussing a life-changing procedure. We took the project on end to end, writing an original script in-house and handling the production from concept through casting, direction, shoot and post. At the centre of the film we placed a character rather than a procedure: a police inspector, played by actor Shri Jibin Gopinath, whose personal transformation unfolds through his experience at KIMS. The choice of a serving officer was deliberate — here is a man whose physical capability is inseparable from his identity, his duty and his self-respect, which gave the story real stakes and made his decision to seek help feel earned rather than advertised. The result is a film that carries genuine emotional weight while keeping KIMS exactly where a healthcare brand belongs in a patient’s story: as the trusted hand that makes the change possible, not the hero of it.
